Locarno is a town internationally known for its Film Festival, the series of concerts scheduled for July and the many events of various kinds offered to both tourist and local clients. Situated on the shores of Lake Maggiore, the region boasts lake wonders such as the Brissago Islands, and mountain pearls such as Cardada, which can be reached by cable car, from where a vast network of trails, including mountain-bike trails, unfolds.
